Put in 40 pounds of insulation. One layer of vibration damping stuff, one layer of closed cell foam. The difference is huge.
This week was trunk, behind the seats and parcel shelf under the rollbar. Next week we do the floorboards and wheel wells.

I just did that to mah truck! Well, added the deadener and the CCF. The mass loaded vinyl was bonded to the carpet. But I haven’t gotten the truck back together, so I don’t know how much it helped. Honestly, that truck was pretty danged quiet.

You're supposed to add lightness, not insulation!

Any idea what the total weight and cost of this whole project will be? It seems like you will get minimal noise reduction but end up spending $300 on sound deadening material and add 500 pounds to the car in total lol.

Honestly even just doing the half I’ve already finished, the stereo sounds so much better. And the doors have that satisfying “clunk”. Haven’t Seven put the OEM carpeting and sound deadening back on top yet... C ost will end up at around $100 (no-name stuff off Amazon) and should add about 60 lbs.

Untill I find a nice Volvo to take over DD duties, I gotta live with the Miata. It's... Rough around the edges as it stands.

I have been looking into doing this to my DD Miata as well, but waiting until I get a roll bar so I can install it all at once . I do have to ask, how well do the hood vents hold up for daily driving?
